No, we supplement our raw diets with all the necessary vitamins and minerals. Our raw diets are formulated to meet AAFCO "Complete and Balanced for All Life Stages."
Keep the foods frozen. Thaw them before you serve them. Once thawed, you can keep them refrigerated for 2 to 3 days. Always practice good hygiene when handling raw food, just like when you are preparing dinner for your family with raw chicken or hamburgers. Clean all surfaces and utensils that are used, including your pets’ bowls, once they finish their food. Always wash your hands before and after you handle the raw foods.
NO. Cooking is not recommended for our raw diets. Our raw diets have bones that are finely ground and are safe to consume when they are raw, cooking will make the bones brittle and can splinter. This will potentially cause serious harm to your pets. Cooking also degrades the nutrients available in the raw diets, which defeats the purpose of feeding raw diets.

Transitioning your cat from his/her current food to a raw diet will take some time. Sudden changes in his/her diet may cause digestive issues. Start by introducing a small amount of the raw diet mixed together with the current food and gradually increase the raw diet over time. A guideline for transitioning:
  • Day 1-3 25% Balanced Blends Raw Diet with 75% current food
  • Day 4-6 50% Balanced Blends Raw Diet with 50% current food
  • Day 7-9 75% Balanced Blends Raw Diet with 25% current food
  • Day 10 100% Balanced Blends Raw Diet

Some cats may not accept the new diet right away and will need a little more help switching. A few tips for switching cats who are addicted to kibble:

  • Stop free feeding and set meal times for 2-3 feeding times a day
  • Introduce your cat to high protein canned food for him/her to get use to the texture
  • Let your cat go a little hungry and offer him/her the raw diet (DO NOT withhold food for more than 24 hours)
  • Attract your cat by sprinkling “attractive” food on the raw food
    • Parmesan cheese
    • Bonito flakes
    • Meat treats
    • FortiFlora ®
    • Tuna flavored water
  • Warm (NOT COOK) the raw diet
  • Hand feed the food
  • All of the above

Cats who are eating canned food may also need the tips above for helping them switch if they refuse to eat the raw diet.
